Interdisciplinary training for professionals: Parent-child interaction training to strengthen relationship and attachment resources (for parents and their children up to 10 years old) – one-week basic course

Neuropsychological research and practical experience with families demonstrate that learning is far more effectively supported by personal experience than by counseling that requires transferring knowledge into everyday life. Parental change stems more easily and quickly from direct experience: the relaxation and smiles of their child.
WARM@Training directly supports parents, thus preventing feelings of jealousy that can arise, for example, when professionals focus on the emotional support of the children. Furthermore, the training provides comprehensive insights into appropriate body language for interpersonal interaction through the analysis of video observations. In a practical exercise, we practice this with horses, as horses, being prey animals, are particularly sensitive to body language signals. Participants with a fear of horses do not need to interact directly with them.

Content and methods covered:

• Attachment theory: lecture and video demonstrations
• Introduction to the theory of mentalization
• Use of interactive videos in parent-child counseling 
• Practical application of attachment strengthening: practical exercises, interactive exercises, role-playing/case studies
• One-time trust exercise with horses, or demonstration of attachment principles on horses (if you are afraid of horses, you can watch from a distance)

Costs for the training course (including accommodation, meals not included):

• €1600 for single occupancy of a room
• €1540 for double occupancy of a shared room

You can stay in the picturesque Inspector’s House in a single room for €80 per day or in a twin room for two people for €65 per day.
